7. General neighborhood updates
The traffic circle at 7th Avenue and 2nd Street (close to Kirkland Arts Center) has been abandoned by it's previous adopter. We need someone (or a group) to adopt it. Can someone please step up to make this beautiful again? It's very rewarding to have people driving by slow down and tell you how much they appreciate you!! Plus it just feels good to make a difference in our community. Contact David Gourlie. [email protected]

Meeting, May 2021

5/11/2021

 Agenda
  • Our chair, Brad, will be giving us an update on the results from this year's Neighborhood Safety Program. Spoiler alert: our project didn't get funded this year, but it scored well and we're optimistic that it could be funded in future years.
  • We'll be holding our annual elections to the Moss Bay board. Candidates:
    • Chair: Alex Chen
    • Co-chair: Vacant
    • Treasurer: Leslie Keller
    • Secretary: Vacant
    • Member at large: Bea Nahon
    • Member at large: Jeanne Large
    • Member at large: Don Winters
  • Rosalie Wessels, Neighborhood Outreach Coordinator for the City of Kirkland, will tell us about the David Brink Park Shoreline Renovation project which will be starting in June.
  • We'll hear from the city about a potential new project under consideration: the Lake Street S / Lake Washington Boulevard Pedestrian Promenade. This pilot project would dedicate the parking spaces on the west side of a portion of Lake Street S / Lake Washington Boulevard for use by people walking and biking. The closures would be a temporary pilot program, similar to what the city has done with Park Lane.
  • David Allen, a volunteer with Kirkland Greenways, and Katya Allen, a member of the Planning Commission, will be talking to us about their support for the promenade pilot.
